Hereke is a coastal city in the near of Istanbul in Turkey. The carpets from this Turkish city are of high quality. Furthermore, Hereke are very big carpets, because they were produced for palaces. Camelhair and cotton are used as common materials. The Turkish patterns are made with double knots – also called Turkish knots – and of Turkish and Anatolian heritage. That’s why they are often inspired by Ottoman palaces.
